A native of Springfield, MO, Michael Cataldo began working in the restaurant industry as a youth, transitioned into a career as a lead electrician, and then became a licensed real estate professional. Now serving clients through Gold Rule Realty, LLC, in Springfield, MO, Michael Cataldo also gives back to the local community through groups such as The Kitchen, Inc.
Founded in 1983 by Sister Lorraine Biebel (who passed away in 2015), The Kitchen carries on its founder's legacy by feeding those in need and offering a diverse range of social programs. Its Rare Breed Youth Services specifically target at-risk youth facing trauma, inter-generational poverty, and homelessness.
Hosted at the Rare Breed Youth Outreach Center (RBYOC), these services seek to empower youth to achieve independence and become thriving citizens. The program includes individual case management that directs youth in gaining housing, education, and employment. Each young person also receives access to needed health services to address any physical or mental conditions that require treatment.
In addition to the basics needed to sustain the physical well-being of the youth it serves, RBYOC features an art studio and music studio for young people to grow through the arts. Other offerings range from a library and computer lab to a weight room.
